The Different Types Of Hydroponic Systems And Their Parts

Agriculture is one of the main activities that is practised by many people either directly in the farms or indirectly through the processing and manufacturing of different agricultural products in factories. Agriculture is considered to be the base of most economies with different products which are grown used for local consumption or export activities. Most countries that are well established and developed have a good agricultural base that tends to meet the different needs of different individuals. Different economies can specialize in different forms of agriculture greatly depending on the available resources within the economy. Since different plants grow in different climatic conditions and soils, it is very important to reconsider the type of agricultural practice that you want to carry out. The most trending agricultural practice which has been greatly adapted by many countries with the advancements in technology is hydroponics.

Hydroponics is generally a subset of hydroculture which involves the growing of plants using different mineral nutrient solutions that are found in water solvents without the use of soil. Various terrestrial plants may be grown with the their roots being exposed to the solution. The nutrients used in this agricultural practice are mainly from duck manure, normal nutrients or fish waste. Growing chambers, simple timers, reservoirs, submersible pump, air pumps, grow lights and delivery systems are some of the main parts required to build various hydroponic systems. The main types of Hydroponic systems which are commonly used are; the Nutrient Film Technique, water culture, wick system, drip system, Aeroponics and ebb-flow.

Aeroponics as a type of hydroponics generally involves the process of keeping roots of various terrestrial plants in environments which are saturated with some drops of various nutrient solutions. This method does not require a substrate and basic entails growing different plants with roots suspended in different growth chambers or in deep air. The main advantage of this process is excellent aeration.

Ebb-flow systems are mostly used when people are carrying different hydroponic activities back at home. This type of system is easy to construct and can be built using any material that might be laying around. The drip system can be referred to as the most adopted hydroponic system which is used by numerous farmers. This is a very easy concept which requires very few parts yet it is effective and very versatile. Here people just drip nutrient solutions on different plant roots so as to keep the roots moist.

Hydroponics can be rated as one of the best agricultural practices used by many farmers in the world. It is one of the most widely spread type of agriculture that basically uses different mineral nutrient solutions that emanate from water solutions.
